Ukraine has announced the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its air defences. The first three producers have started manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” designed to intercept Iranian-made drones. This technology has been tested in combat and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.
