Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Shot Dead in the City of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation grappling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was gunned down in the city centre on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old media personality was accosted by three individuals, one of whom began shooting at him before fleeing on foot.
The reason of the attack is unknown and no one has been arrested have been made, police said.
How It Happened
Authorities indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was leaving a building close to the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the site overseeing the installation of safety equipment, which had been controversially occupied by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"It is alleged the man was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement stated.

The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but collapsed a short distance away.
