In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down my talk don't think I can catch the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing helper".

These exchanges were published on Wednesday together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as the president's closest aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his show earlier this year, he stated: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - early next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this morning with Farage, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the time, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people see the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely BUT the people over here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The Congress will decide soon on whether the justice department should make public all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of over 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
