Recreational competitors will have the chance to earn A$1m when they take on tennis' top professionals - including top-ranked the Spanish champion - in a winner-takes-all point before January's Australian Open

Event planners of the Australian Open have revealed the $1 Million Single-Point Tournament, which will pair everyday competitors against elite athletes in a elimination competition at the tournament grounds

Players will play 'the decision-making game' to establish who serves or receives, and the player who wins the point will advance to the subsequent phase

The champion of the event will earn a significant cash prize

It starts on early January and the two winners will go into Wednesday's 'final showdown' with the additional everyday players and elite competitors
